You know what.... what works for one may not work for another. That is just the way it is. I love reading all the different things that work for all the different people. Keeps my options open.
I've done ALOT of reading, googling, researching. Some docs say that exercise & diet helps. As I'm sure it does for some. Other docs say that meds help. As I know it does for others. I don't see why we have to have all this argueing. No one person is right or wrong here as to what works for them.
I hope the people can work things out between them, maybe "behind" the scenes so to speak. This NG has enough problems with the trolls without letting spats over silly things split it up! Of course thats just my opinions.

I am in complete agreement with what you have said, different people have found different things that help. I do not think any one has any problem with that. It's a good thing in a way that people seem to take this available choice for granted today. It means we now _have_ the luxury of choices. It wasn't always like that.

Ya' see, it was not too long ago that PWFMS were told it was AIYH and refused to prescribe any sort of meds at all, never mind how much pain the PWFMS was experiencing. They were sent to pshrinks, they were sent to PT, they were put on diets, they were even sent to aerobics classes! for God's sake, no matter how inappropriate. And if they could not physically manage it, they were labeled as non-compliant and even neurotic.

So when people here were describing how wonderfully well their diet, exercise and good attitude worked for them, it hit a fairly raw nerve. A few of us, remembering the sheer hell those for whom this doesnot/or cannot work, spoke up to remind people of this fact. For various reasons, this was taken as an insult and an invalidation of all their efforts, not the caution it was mean to be, and things escalated from there into personal invective.

It's really too bad, because it was mostly the 'oldbies' who were involved, those who have the most experience and a great deal of knowledge. Unfortunately it is also some of the people who have the most severe FMS and combination of illnesses, and thus stresses they can not avoid. And, bottom line, it is not a cure for FMS, even for the people whom it helps.

I too hope people here will let go of the hurt, and perceived insult, because all of us need each other and our combined wisdom to help deal with this DD.
