What are some of the things that you do to lose yourself in the moment
and enjoy life?

listening to music, generally classical when I need to lose myself.
Blessedly our local NPR station has a really good classical music show as our
CD player is currently tempermental. They just played some lovely Chopin
recordings.
Just being outdoors somewhere beautiful. Next week we leave to camp at
Copper Harbor - the tip of the Keweenaw peninsula which is the little piece
of Michigan's upper peninsula that sticks out into Lake Superior. We're told
it's absolutely wonderful there. camping's hard on me these days, but the
personal renewal it holds for me is worth it. (plus the DH helps a lot and
we've upgraded to air beds so I sleep better.)
snuggling with the DH. not getting sexual here - a big hug from him is one
of my most effective therapies! It took a long time to convince him it is a
real help to me, but he believes me now. Even thinking about his big, loving
hugs helps me get through the day.
Gardening, in our brief growing season. My RD's PA wanted me to lay off this
year because my legs were cramping up so much, but I can't NOT do it! I
changed my pace and figured out other ways of doing things to keep the
problems at a tolerable level. We've had a very cool summer though and the
peppers and tomatoes are coming along slowly. The perennial garden I put in
last year is lovely this summer though..........
