You know, I got off the computer and realized what you had written me; it
hit me like a bolt. I don't know who you are and obviously you don't know
me but that was a really mean thing to say to me.
Besides, did you know I too have cancer? I have lymphoma; was diagnosed in
March.
What was your reason for writing that to me? It just totally blows my mind.
Then you did not even sign it. What is the problem?

I don't think you understood what I was saying. This isn't anything about
guilt. It is about feeling ok where one's at instead of feeling sorry for
myself.

Dont you feel the least bit guilty taking all this medical care when it
could be going to the lady with cancer, a real illness? Shame on you.

Today I had to go and get my infusion of iron (same place I get my
Rituxan).
I will be going every day this week and then Rituxan on July 5th. Then
I
"think" I might be done for a while. I can only hope.
Anyway, what I learned today is that somebody is always having a more
difficult time than one's self. There was a woman there who I have seen
since the beginning of my infusions. She is getting the real hard core
chemo. She has uterine cancer, as I found out since we struck up a
conversation. Her husband sat with her. She said the malignant tumor
on
her uterus is too large to remove the uterus. She had been doing
radiation
for several months in December/January. She was sick, vomiting, the
whole 9
yards. Now she is getting chemo. Unfortunately, non of the above are
shrinking the tumor. Thus they cannot remove for fear they will cut
into
the tumor itself. She and her husband were inspirational to me. We
talked
about how difficult things can get but you cannot give up. Some how you
just keep going on one day at a time and doing what ever you have to do
to
stay alive. I even laughed a lot today with the nurses. My mood today
has
taken a turn for the better. I guess I just needed to talk to two other
people who understood even more than I did how difficult life can become
at
times. The woman is originally from Germany and he is originally from
Poland. They were full of caring and humor and the whole experience
with
them just helped pick up my spirits. I cannot say that tomorrow I will
feel
quite like I do today, but at least for today, I feel OK and I hope the
rest
of you do too. Perhaps sometimes the best therapy is to meet and talk
to/with somebody who has it harder than one's self.
Love n Hugs,
Nettie
