Re: Nettie's Health

Whoa. That sounds pretty awful. Will keep y'all in my thoughts and
prayers.

I hope this isn't a setback in the cancer treatment.

My aunt Dorothy (Mom's side... the brother/sisters keep having health probs
following Aunt 'Cile's death... argh) went in the hospital for gall bladder
stuff (we thought) and they discovered masses of cancer, so we are sending
up extra prayers for her as well. She continues to have emergent problems
and it isn't clear (to me) whether it is cancer related or just extra stuff
plaguing my Aunt at a very bad time. The ER trips are extra worrysome for
my Mom, as the 3 of them were pretty much like the 3 musketeers (female
version, that is) until Aunt 'Cile died. Mom's health isn't great, although
she manages to get by, so I try to call daily to make sure all is well at
the farm.

Anyway, I hope they can sedate Nettie (or do the amnesiac Versed thing) for
the upper GI. Doesn't sound very fun either. :(

Hope you are holding up, Ed. Glad you are able to take care of Nettie and
get us updated as well. Thank you for taking time and energy to do so.

Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers,
Mary

Hello everyone. This is Ed, Nettie's husband. Just a quick note to you all
from us.
On FRiday Nettie was not feeling well at all in the late afternoon. Back
pain traveling around to her chest. She did not sleep well Friday night
and on Sat morn. it was worse. We went in to ER on Sat. morning at 8:30
A.M. They did lots of tests and found nothing dangerous except slight
kidney infection and indications of some sludge in gall bladder. It took a
long time, but with I.V. meds got pain under control and she went home and
was advised to use meds. she had at home to control pain.
We returned home at 3:00 P.M and then pain meds started to wear off. She
took meds. she had here but with no results. At 6:00 P.M. we called ER and
they took her back in at 6:30 P.M. They did more tests but could not find
anything dangerous so they admitted her to the hospital. There was a long
wait in ER so admittion did not happen until about 11:00 P.M.By this time
no pain meds were really working so thru the night she slept very little.
This morning they did an ultra-sound and found that gall bladder was full
of stones so they did surgery today(sunday) from 1:30P.M. to about 4:45
P.M. Laproscopic method did not work so they had to do an incision.Gall
bladder was black in color and pretty much dead. She was out of recovery
at about 6:30 P.M and was feeling much better already. There is still a
canal blocked by stones so they will try to clear this tomorrow with an
upper G.I. procedure in the morning.
I will be gone at hospital tomorrow and probably not available to answer
any e-mails but she wanted me to inform you all on her situation. I'm
expecting her to be in hospital for at least a few days yet. We will send
more updates later.

Thanks,

Eddie-Ray
