Hi!
You nuke 'em for a minute 30 to maximum of two minutes in the microwave.
If you're like me you need someone else to test that it's not too hot. (
arthritic) The rice sock will hold the heat for 2 or 3 hours and then you
can nuke it again. And again. I can't use beans because the heat gets too
concentrated on some spots where I can't feel it and I get burned.
Or on a dare you might put the filled rice sock in a 2 quart bowl of
water, nuke for ten minutes, pour/shake the rice out, fluff and serve.<g>

I just use plain old rice, what ever is on sale! I don't use minute
rice types. And I toss in a little bit of a nice smelling herb. I
like to use Bay (Laurel leaf) or rosemary, sometimes I use small bits
of a cinnamon stick. And I don't pack them too full, leave enough room
for the rice to be able to conform to the shape of the body part it's
going to be wrapped around. --fran
