Well, since we're talking about swelling I thought I'd use this post of
mine to add onto.
Here's a goodie!:-O Ya know how the advertisers have little ad-blurbs
about whatever topic is relevant at the moment? So we're talking about
how debilitating leg & foot/ankle swelling can be & here's the ad:
"Swelling of Ankles...Recommended by Health Pros...Order Direct from
the Manufacturer"!!!!!!!!!! ummmmmm, seriously?! R they phishing??!!
So, did I click on the site? Nope! (but I bet they have a lot of
hits:D).
Soooooo, I talked to my doc in Sea. & I'm off to the ER & prob.
admittance. argh. Each time I go in they want to put a pic line in me
cuz I'm the toughest of tough to get. Problem is just because they
don't normally sedate someone to do it I have refused because of panic
attacks & massive poking & stuff. Even the top nurse/trainer for the
IV specialized team had a hard time getting me & wrote in my chart to
Make Sure they do the hot towels & every trick in the book to get me.
damn. Here we go again.
I see that next to the inside ankle bone (well, where it looks like it
should be) the skin is stretched so much it's starting to split. Time
for me to split.
I'm goin'...I'm almost out the door...o wait, just one more
thing...<weg>
Unhappily tho kindly mostly,

DANGNabIt!!!!!! It's happening again. This time, as w/one other I
think, both my knees turned fiery red & Hurt Like Hellfire! Burns &
yet stabs through the socket. They are both very swollen & hot to the
touch. Then, my legs got to their monster size & strange shape & the
same areas I got cellulitis in be4 got it again. Very hot to touch,
stretched skin so much that it's shiny & feels like it could split open
(which can happen).
I have enough Clindymyacin for 2wks (which is what it was originally
for, both cellulitis & time frame). I didn't use it for more than a
day last time cuz my temp. shot up & burning redness got worse so went
back to er the night after I first went to er (expecting them to admit
me cuz it was bad but noooo, doc said "try this 1st"). Great. 2 er
payments & I ended up being admitted! Anyway...since I spotted this
bout (o, sounds like "gout" but it isn't !!!)early I'm hoping the
antibiotics will do their magic & let me avoid the 8th admittance to
hospital for THE RECURRING CELLULITIS FROM HELLFIRE!!!!!!
Arghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
O, Dawn? Are you still reading the thread? If so would you mind
emailin' me or if I email u cuz I just have to find out what is
happening!!! Hope you're doin' ok as can be!
Kindly,

See a doctor. I don't know if it's "fibro" related, since everything on
earth is said to be it, but 'gout' is something to have checked out. Have
your doctor get a urine sample. It could also be heart or kidney, so you
really should let your doctor know about this. Not anything to mess
around with.
It could be just being on your feet. For me, it started and I couldn't
figure out why. Then I realized I had a couple drinks and it happened. I
was checked out. No gout -- yet at the time even my hands swelled. Doctor
said... heart, kidneys...
Then I went out to dinner, had 2 glasses of wine, and the next day I had
swollen ankles and feet. No more hands, though.
So I tested it. Drink: swelling. No drinking, doesn't happen. So that's
what it was for me. Even one drink would do it, so I don't have one
anymore. Can't work when you're ankles are swelling over your shoes, and
then it goes on to where I could hardly wear shoes.
And I wasn't a 'drinker' per se. With dinner. Out with a friend every
couple of months. But for me it started last year, and after having
everything checked out -- that was MY culprit.
Good luck to you, and see your doctor, please. It could be something
needing attention.
