Rant/Whine

Tonight, I'd really like to knock some sense into both Chewy and
YS(15). They were going at each other loggerheads earlier. YD and the
couple who are temporarily staying with us were all already asleep.
Our exchange student was on the phone long distance with some of her
family. And here the two of them went. Aaaarrrrggghhh!!!!!

It drives me nuts that they do that. They seem to nearly always pick
the *worst* time to get in a fight - anytime anyone else (including me)
is around.

Afterwards, YS and I had a talk about it. He said that he thinks that
sometimes the two of them just *need* to fight, for whatever reason.
If Chewy comes home from work in a grumpy mood, that triggers something
in YS, who pushes Chewy's buttons, then Chewy pushes back, etc, until
they're both yelling. It's driving me nuts!

YS said that it really doesn't bother him. He knows that the things
Chewy says when they're angry like that aren't meant. And he knows
they'll get over it.

But *I* can't stand it!! I've told both of them that, but that doesn't
seem to matter to them.

I keep getting that ol' whine in my head, "If they cared about the rest
of us, they'd not do that." I've even told Chewy (not the kids) about
my concerns that the stress is causing more problems with my health,
and that I start having mild stroke symptoms again whenever things get
really stressful.

I guess my reaction goes back to my mother and her initial bad choices
in husbands. I don't WANT fighting going on here. It scares me. But
there's no way for *me* to get *them* to stop.

<sigh>
