That really sucks!!! Makes you wonder why they don't have a more
standardized set of rules for who to get the information from and what
data was needed to be collected. Too much seems to be left up to the
individual examiner who makes the final decision on your case and that's
entirely too much power for one person/small group of people. The whole
system needs a damn overhaul, but I don't see that happening in my
lifetime.
I'm sorry you got screwed over again. Missed seeing your posts lately.

Hello all. I'm still alive and kicking, just not kicking as high or
hard. I found out this weekend that Social Security has denied my
disability claim. They acknowledge that I have a debilitating condition,
but don't feel it is severe enough to merit full disability.
They think I could go back to work on the limited duty I had been
working for ten years. My lawyer said that it was expected, and that I
will have a hearing now. They will try to get a bench decision so I
don't have to go into a hearing, but their success rate in that area is
only 57%. If I have to go to a hearing, I don't know what will happen.
They even decided that my "mental/psychological" issues were
probably only due to my worring about my work situation. Ya think? I
forget the words I'm saying in the middle of a sentence, but that's
probably only because I'm worried about my work situation. The decision
letter showed that they went to one doctor who I haven't even seen in
over 32 years and I only went to him for a referal then. Other than that
he never even treated me for my "condition" except for a brief period in
1996 when I was in a "waiting for a hearing " mode and OWCP wouldn't pay
my bills. Other than that, they only went to one of the other doctors on
my list, my treating physician, who they decided wasn't (forgot the next
word!) (oh it's) convincing enough. I don't know what comes next, but
hopefully this 16 year old saga will end soon with a happy trail on the
end of it. Stay as well as you can. :)> Daddio
