Ed,
Man does that sound painful!
I fractured two of my fingers when I was in high school. I was supposed
to wear splints, but I hated the things-they made me stand out soo much
(you know what it's like in high school), so I didn't wear them. My
fingers have never been right since. Also, since the arthritis started,
they act up worse than ever now.
I know that it's a PITA, but maybe you should go for the splint? I
don't want to be offering advice, but I wish now that I had worn mine
longer.
