I spoke to my dad last night; he said his sister's family got tons of
rain in Wilmington (right on the coast) over the two days Ophelia
basically sat in a squall there, but no real wind damage to speak of.
Didn't sound like there was flood damage to speak of either,
thankfully.
Just think, a few more months here and we'll have folks asking us if
we've "survived" the snow storms of '05-'06... blah. Can't wait. We've
already been "warned" the util company is going to be raising heating
oil prices such that our bills are expected to rise 71% over last year.
Great.
I'm doubting if I'll get to visit my old profs at UM for my 20-year
anniversary this Fall. My pain, gut, sleep, and fatigue are just too
bad; doing very little of anything here besides home repairs (plumbing,
mostly).
