The other issue with international cheques is that they don't always
clear when you think they clear, I've written cheques that were
deposited into US accounts immediately, but the funds didn't disappear
from my Canadian bank account for 7-8 weeks, so even just a basic NSF
wouldn't have been discovered for at least that long, actual fraud would
take another month beyond that.


Simple mater- BALANCE YOUR CHECKBOOK. If you've written a check that has not
posted - then consider that money gone. Or use an International money order.
I've taken checks from the UK, Canada and Australia with no problems on my
end.
