I just checked out my ebay fees for several postings. 5 I thought
were overcharged so I computed the fees myself according to ebays
chart. First $25 costs 2.19 and balance at .035% of balance. I sold
one item for $85.05 and was charged a fee of $7.79. The next item I
sold was for $82.00 and the fee was $4.18. I had 5 sales that the
fees were outrageous, so I called ebay. They informed me that the 5
items in question were "No Insertion Fee Listings" which means "you
are going to get screwed on the final value fee" The final value fee
for the free listings is .085% which in my case meant I paid an
average of $2.24 per item instead of .35 insertion fee. I have been
looking for an alternative to ebay and I think I will start listing on
Online Auction. It was a bunch of us little guys that got ebay
started and now to show their appreciation they are going to shaft us
every chance they can get. They would rather deal with the bigger
companies and to hell with you and me ....... Check your ebay fees for
yourself and see .......
I and a bunch of other sellers already were aware of the higher final
value fee, and plan on offering five items each month that either the
opening price is so high no one is going to buy it, or stuff that no one
in the right mind would ever buy.
Best to not list and make sure eBay knows why.
