I love Don Lancaster's excellent eBay practices.
A recent look at his site ( http://myworld.ebay.com/abeja/ )
reveals just off the vague top of my head dozens of items he has had
for at least a year or two. Such as 290214184854, the nuclear circular
slide rule. As with everything, it's listed BIN only, at a weird
price.
When Don is blasting pseudoscience, one should reflect on how he
apparently gives pseudobusiness a free pass, since all that old stuff
like "turn your inventory over" has apparently gone out the window out
there in Thatcher.
But apparently Don is making some money somewhere, because he is able
to keep cranking out all the useful and timely tech advice he puts out
there on his web site.
Hoo boy did you pick the wrong example.
The nuke slide rule is BY FAR our best selling item of all time.
With an utterly obscene SBR.
The practice is in fact well beyond excellent.
We have the entire world's supply of this item and have totally cornered the market. Many hundreds have been sold to date.
Most individuals attempt to turn their eBay inventory over ridiculously too fast.
A reasonable goal on something that you have NOT cornered the market on and do not have an infinite supply of is to aim for a 28 day payback and a 15 month hang time.
