Oops: Authentication Disclaimers

eBay appears to have slipped a major contradiction
into their Policy pages, probably when they did
their stealth roll-out of the new coin slab rules.
This issue may exist only on the US site.

First, we have long-standing, if not well-known:
<http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/authenticity-disclaimers.html>
"Sellers may not disclaim knowledge of, or
responsibility for, the authenticity or
legality of the items offered in their listings."

Now consider:
<http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-coins.html>
Under:
"Additional Information"
...
* If unsure of the origin or authenticity of
the coins or paper money, please state this
clearly in the listing."

I've sent a question through Contact-Us about it.
I'll share any reply.

I would have thought that people writing new eBay
Policies would have read the existing ones first.
Guess not.
