I'm fairly new to ebay and have an auction that I started at $250
with a Buy It Now for $350. It has one bid and a few days left to
go, and someone emailed me and said they want to get it ASAP and are

A bid in the hand is worth two in the bush.
If they really want it, they can bid 350 and see what happens; if you
close the auction, you'll lose the other bids, and likely end up with
a forged payment and no sale.
Call their bluff ... and watch them disappear.
Well calling their bluff would be ending the auction earlier, but then I
could get shafted by a prankster.
I just told them that I didn't know if Ebay would allow me to end it
early and being someone had bid $5 more than their bid, they were free
to buy one of the used units that had BIN on it.
