I've heard all the horror stories of
dealing with fraud, and how PayPal will take the money from your account
and how you lose the merchandise, etc
how can I protect
myself?
cancel your PayPal account and only accept checks or money orders. I
won't
accept payments through TheftPal and I'm doing just fine.
yet you accept personal checks. brilliant!
If a personal check clears, ship.
If not, don't ship.
Simple.
Except that it can take up to around 6 months before a cheque/check is safe
from bouncing so you'd be happy with waiting at least 6 months for something
if you paid by cheque/check?
Just because the bank release the funds from one into your account does not
mean a cheque/check has truly cleared, it can be pulled back at any time
especially if it was issued fraudulently or stolen.
