Same here. When I was younger, I loved the sweeter whites. Not anymore.
Right now I'm indulging in an Australian Shiraz -- nice and dry.
(I'm all over the kalamata olives, Joanne. I got turned onto them about 20
years ago at a Greek restaurant in Sanibel. Deeelicious.)
Ever go to Tarpon Springs? Feasts. On the plate and for the eyes, but it was (in those days, anyway) very dangerous to let any of the Greek girls see you admiring those Greek sponge-diving boys, but who could keep their eyes off them?
