Many sellers will use "insurance" and "shipping" to make money. If it
costs them $2.00 to ship, and they charge $6.00 it makes them more money.
This makes NO sense. Please explain.
If some one offers an item for $10 with $6 S/H and and someone else
offers the same item for $14 with $2 S/H, how does the first seller make
more profit?
Are you saying people will bid higher because the S/H is higher?
If the item is worth $25 to me, I'd bid $19 for the first item and $23
for the second item. How does the first seller make more profit if I
win both at my maximum proxy?
For one thing Ebay's fee's are based on the final price , not the price with
shipping, and insurance. Ebay has rules against this, but they seem to be
loosely enforced. This is why you may see an item that is priced at .99 with
$20.00 shipping. A lot of it seems to be trying to work human nature. Stores
will price an item at $1.99 instead of $2.00 because it works. If someone
lists a price of $20.00 for something, then says you have to add on $8.00
shipping, and $6.00 insurance, many people seem to not realize they are
paying $34.00 for the item. At least not till it dawns on them days later
and they come here to cry about it. <shrug>.
