Nobody Asked
Why I didn't change all the "cash" options on my 500+ listings. They
would have found out I just didn't have the time as I have to work at a
"real job", because I don't make a liveable income on eBay. (I was
doing the best I could...if it would have been easy...it would have
been done.) They might have found out that Turbo Lister won't
accomodate a feature that allows multiple changes on listings. They
just yanked my listings.
Nobody asked
Why I prefer being individual and independent rather than a corporate
flunky by listing with Paypal. Instead they encourage customers not to
buy from people who don't take Paypal. They continue to put the
pressure on by considering inane policies to force sellers into Paypal
for yet another fee.
Nobody asked
They just yank listings without an explanation. 4 years with a store
and never had anything yanked. 10 things yanked in the last month with
no good reason. Guilty until proven innocent. What kind of justice is
that? What kind of management is that?
Nobody asks
Why excellent feedback, quality customer service and premier products
are not enough anymore.
Nobody asked
Why I don't use the auction listing much anymore. Especially when the
last two bunches of auctions had no sales and they yanked one of the
listings. I always used the auctions at least once a week to drive
people to my store. There was a time when the stores were in the main
search engine and I thought...I can do this! No more!
Nobody asks
Why eBay would want to turn down a regular income from store owners for
the vagaries and unpredictibility of auctions is beyond me. The age
old flaw in Capitalism is the concept of constant growth and maximizing
profits. If I can rent my house to long staying , reliable, honest
tenants for a lower, (profitable), rent than rent it for an
exaggerated inflated rent to unknown, unreliable tenants...well there
is no question in my mind. When is enough, enough? Instead of keeping
the free marketplace as the ideal that made eBay what it is...it has
just become another greedy, bland corporation...and will pay dearly for
this as sellers realize, like me, the dream is over.
Nobody asks
Why the bloodhounds sniffing out auctions to cancel on little guys like
me aren't sniffing out and suspending the real abusers of eBay.
Police have quotas to fill...I guess these guys do too! They would
probably be more well paid and talents better used working in airports.
Nobody asks
Why excellent feedback, quality customer service and premier products
are not enough anymore. Do they want your soul too?
Nobody asks
Why eBay has become totalitarian, watchdogs for other corps and so
anxious to control sellers. Hmmmm...Germany 1939............
Nobody f*****g cares! Neither do I!
Another one bites the dust! Just cancelled my store today ...and I do
feel strangely free! No more constantly checking emails, no more
packing and shipping and running all over the country for products, no
more guilt at taking vacations, no more mini-strokes when someone gives
you bad feedback, no more mini heart attacks when you see a message
from ebay, no more emails saying "When did you send my parcel?" for the
fifth time. No more "Do you take Paypal?" even though its written at
least 3 times on listing and invoice , no more more dealing with
irrational customers...when all you want to say is "stick it in up your
arse". No more directing all my energy and creativity into sales. I
have been obsessed by eBay for six or more years and did enjoy the
ride. But my roller coaster days are over.
Not sure whether I may open my own website, or become a big fish in
a little pond by listing on one of the new auction sites opening...or I
may just sell all my stock at flea markets , rest on my laurels and
write a book.
Thanks for letting me just lurk, but I have enjoyed and appreciated all
your input, help, wit and repartee...this group has kind of kept me
going. More than I can say for eBay!
