What is your rec. for selling
I don't really have one; I'm mostly a buyer, and have only sold a few
things over the years. The few things I did sell, I packed 'em up before
I listed them so I could get a final shipping weight (and get them right
out the door as soon as I was paid).
A few more experienced sellers have sites with more info; Dave's got one
on ebay myths at <http://www.auctionmyths.com/>, and Don Lancaster has
extensive suggestions for more hard-core sellers at <http://tinaja.com/>.
In my experience, the yard-sale type stuff I was getting out of my
basement wasn't selling for enough to make it worth doing; I would really
have had to do a LOT of it to bring in a profit. Nowadays I either take
it down to the local thrift stores or, if they might actually be worth
five or ten bucks, sell them on Craigslist.

Billy, in one of his nice new sashes,
Fell in the fire and was burnt to ashes.
Now, although the room grows chilly
I haven't the heart to poke poor Billy.
