The item in question, by the way, is a rare lens. Not a one has been

see another one listed.
You grossly misunderestimate how much people hate spam,
and anything that looks like spam. eBay users even attempt
to report SCOs as spam, and resent the official promotional
emails (spam) that eBay sends.

Because the item is rare, that's why.
Then you'd better email everyone on the planet and alert them.
Have you searched Want-It-Now to see if anyone is looking
for this item? And yes, you can FavSearch that, and legally
advise the Wanter when you put up a listing for it.
Put it on your off-eBay website. Google will find it.
Someone searching for an item fruitlessly for a long time would tend to
give up searching every day. They might search every week perhaps, but
certainly there was every chance they would easily miss my listing.
You misunderestimate FavSearch. I have one running right
now for a rare modem, hasn't returned a hit in months, but
there it sits, with infinite patience, awaiting a listing.
