Another question for doing research: we all know that dealers rarely
make mistakes and let things go for a song but private people frequently
do. They misspell, they misscategorize, they describe poorly, etc, all
things a dealer has learned not to do. I'd love to be able to search
huge sections with hundreds of closing auctions a day IF I could filter
out the dealers. Its it possible? Most have more than 200 transactions
so as a safe bet if I filtered out anybody with over 500 feedback, I'd
get rid of most of them. Anything over 200 should get rid of 99%. Is
this possible?
No, if it was easy everyone would do it, and if everyone was doing it
the prices would go up do to competition. Looking for the good buy
among millions of ebay items is equivalent to looking through 1000
boxes in a flea market and finding a gem, they are there, but by the
time you find it you realize the time spend didn't compensate for the
effort expended, generally speaking.
Also, a lot of ebay dealers pretend to look like private people sending
stuff they know little about, I know I do...
