In all those other situations you have received the goods or services
before you pay by check. With an eBay transaction you send off the
payment and then *hope* the seller sends you the goods. The OP thinks
that paying via PayPal is safer (maybe, maybe not, depending on how he
funds the payment) in the event the seller doesn't send the goods.
The poster explained his or her wariness about sending a check to be:
"I'm concerned about my account # and routing # being stolen".
What changes in this area of concern because the recipient is a
separated women who is a photographer? Why is she more likely to
steal the account number and routing number than the grocery store
clerk?
The reason for the concern is right up there on the screen in front of
you.
