Pretty annoying, isn't it?
So what did it say?
This was the post:
To see the card details go to your account history and look for any recent
refund. Find the ORIGINAL payment and click on details. On the details page it
will say that the payment has been refunded and give you a link to click on.
This link will give take you to the transaction details for the refund. The
link, however (in blue underlined writing) is made up of the card details used
to make the payment.
And this was PayPal's answer:
Amongst other things - all accounts linked to the OP were checked and no
issues were found relating to refunds. A series of tests has been run with the
live site and no issues have been identified. We have not received any other
reports of this nature and there is no record of the OP having contacted us
last night.

Obviously the concept of a posting ID is too much for the paypal chimps to
handle.
