I would list -
Office machine as normal auction.
With an undisclosed reserve.
With a Buy-It-Now option.
Offer the books at an additional cost
if the bidder wins via normal auction.
Offer the books free if the bidder does
a Buy-It-Now.
If they do a Buy-It-Now, and therefore
get the free books, offer them:
UPS standard OR UPS overnight for
the office machine.
-and-
UPS standard OR UPS overnight
OR USPS Priority OR USPS media mail
for the books.
If they don't do the Buy-It-Now but
win a regular auction, AND if they
want the books, set up a separate,
private auction for the agreed upon
price for the books.
Then offer the office machine at
UPS standard OR UPS overnight.
-and-
Offer the books at UPS standard
or UPS overnight or USPS Priority
or USPS Media mail. You could include
an option for USPS Express Mail in
case they wanted that.
If the buyer does a Buy-It-Now but
doesn't want the books, offer them
a shipping upgrade on your next
auction at no extra cost.
Then I'd offer them the option to buy
insurance on the machine AND the books.
Or insurance on the machine but NOT the
books. Or insurance on the books but NOT
the machine. Or no insurance at all. But
be sure and tell them that if they don't
buy insurance, you can't be responsible if
the package doesn't arrive or if their
teenage daughter becomes pregnant.
And if you should have more than one,
I would present everything above as
a dutch auction.
And just in case someone buys it from
you before the auction ends, state in
the auction that you reserve the right
to cancel the auction if it sells elsewhere.
