Auctions aren't there to be 'fun' - if you don't like, don't buy.

The good thing about auctions is that they show real market value (at this moment!)- if you don't like paying that, well fine - rare items are like London buses - none for ages, then three come along at once.

They always nudged store prices - difference is, store prices are probably lower now - esp. DVDs - because of ebay.

Everything gets rarer sooner or later, and prices rise - no good being cheaper at play.com if they've sold out!

There's still bargains to be had - just be patient.

Hi Andrew yes i think your right and of course again you are right in the respect of i don't have to buy buts sometimes when dvds are deleted the only option you have is ebay if you want the dvd. I told my lad hopefully these dvds will come down in price and when i can afford them i will try my best to get them but like most children they don't always understand the meaning of money and the cost of living and as i said to him i am not willing to pay £30-£40 for a dvd that will probably sit on a shelf for god know how long

but hey thanks Andrew for your opinion

Do you spend an equal (or higher) amount on more "quality" entertainment for your son?

Children shouldn't get everything they want, but rather, get
what they need. I can't think of any reason a child needs a
bunch of wrestling DVDs during their formative years. I'd
be concerned about what he wanted, if this is all he wants.

But that's just me.

Kris

Hi kris

No he's not the type of lad who wants top branded gear or every football kit that comes out and he doesn't ask for a money a great deal, he's a good lad like i said and does a lot at home for me and his mum, he loves watching television and reading books so i like to get what he enjoys and of course as long as it not expensive. He goes out playing football with his m8s a couple of times a week and gets some exercise and he plays on his PC, of course school nights when he gets home he does his homework right away and at nearly 15 he like to get in bed around 9 and watches his dvds or telly, so he's not a bad lad thankfully, i think a treat every now and again is good for children

dave

sorry kris forgot to mention no wrestling dvds are not the only ones he has, hes go loads of others aswell, he likes art, so i got him art videos and dvds and he has loads of disney and other far to many to mention. But its not just dvds he gets, his many hobby is art, he loves drawing, painting and writing so every week i get something little like pens, books, all the arty stuff

OK, just checking.

It just makes me cringe, because I know people who do nothing
but watch that stuff. I think it can make people mean.
