"Two popular sunscreens that Americans could buy only online or out of the country have been pulled off the virtual shelves of Internet shopping site www.eBay.com.
"Losing Ombrelle and Anthelios has frustrated some Canadian eBay vendors, who were benefiting from the U.S. ban on the advanced sunscreens. The products, both manufactured by L'Oreal, await Food and Drug Administration approval of their active ingredient, Mexoryl." <more>
One guy claims to have "made about $1000" in 2 weeks with the stuff. He's not happy to have his listings cancelled.
It can still be sold on other country sites, but not on eBay US until the FDA approves Mexoryl.
eBay is such a party pooper!
Ed
THey should try taking them to ioffer or yahoo. I have found things on both those sites that are banned by eBay, but not banned in the USA. I don't know though, if they actively patrol for illegal items, which this would be, I guess.
What's the penalty for pushing illegal sunscreen?
Ed .
