Just How Serious Are The Bugs In Mastercam X6?

This is the list of fixed bugs for X6 MU1... the third release of X6.
cnc00048144 Mill With "Assign tool number sequentially" enabled, when
the user right-clicks in the Tool Window to select a tool in an
operation, the first tool loaded has a number of "2" and not "1".
cnc00054072 Mill It is possible to create a "clean" surface operation
with no Drive Surfaces. It will post an NC file.
cnc00095721 NETHook API Calling SearchManager.GetTools more than once
causes crash or unstable Mastercam.
cnc00099382 Mill Peel mill using WCS creates a toolpath that goes well
outside the selected chains. Open the file and backplot the operation.
It is using a bottom WCS.
cnc00100282 Mill Optirest Toolpath shows gouge in Verify.
cnc00100356 Mill Operations being marked dirty for apparently no
reason.
cnc00100784 Mill Selecting any but the first Stock Model > Parameters
Green Check causes that model and all successive stock models to bemarked dirty.
cnc00101305 Lathe If you edit a Lathe tool that is used in an
operation and change the active turret or spindle, the change is also
saved to the operations that use the tool. This is bad as
op_tool_info.active_spindle and op_tool_info.active_turret are now set
from the axis combination assigned to the operation.
cnc00101382 Mill Start Hole and AutoDrill toolpath dialogs: tool
library selection only allows for tools-6 files, not tools-5 or
toolsdb files.
cnc00101940 Lathe Attached is an MCX-6 file with a Lathe face
toolpath, using the corner break functionality. When the roughing
option furthest to the right is selected in the toolpath parameters,
and the corner break radius is .120", Mastercam hangs when the
toolpath is regenerated. If the corner radius is set to .1199", the
toolpath successfully regenerates.
cnc00102508 NETHook API The 'SearchManager.IsAnyGroups()' (and its
overloads) always return FALSE,
even if Toolpath Groups do exist under the specified Machine Group.
cnc00103265 Mill When reselecting Geometry, Mastercam selects the
Check Surfaces while at the same time moving the current Drive Surface
data to the Check Surfaces selection, leaving the Drive Surface
selection empty.
cnc00103714 Design Method for creating perpendicular tangent lines
disables Undo/Redo buttons.
cnc00103761 Wire Stops incorrectly output with multiple chains
selected.
cnc00103765 Posts User is not being warned when overwriting a file
during the posting process, even thought the "Ask" option is enabled.
cnc00103899 Posts Multiple offsets being output even if none are
present in the operation being posted.
cnc00104109 Mill Mastercam does not save Coolant Settings for Tool
Libraries in the Tool Manager.
cnc00104343 Mill Fixed crashing issue with strange characters
displaying on the canned text page.
cnc00104447 General Removed the arbitrary limit on 3D Connexion
devices that limits how much they can zoom in or out.
cnc00104491 File Masteram hangs when you click on the File Open
Preview.
cnc00104497 Mill HST-Raster Trim to Passes references a stock model
operation and is adjusted to ignore small cusps. The resulting path
ignores one of the two rest material regions.
cnc00104785 NETHook API The ability to set the CPlane and TPlane is
not working properly. (NETHook ViewManager class)
cnc00104820 Mill When an x5 part is opened in x6 and the NC or NCI
posted, and then the parameters of this operation are edited and only
the tool number changed, the operation is marked dirty and needs to be
regenerated. Changing the tool number should not make the operation
dirty.
cnc00104823 Wire 4 Axis Wirepath does not follow arc geometry. Circles
get translated away from original geometry.
cnc00104926 Solids Fixed a 32 bit to 64 bit conversion issue that will
affect any Mastercam file that contains a solid which includes an
Extrude Cut or Extrude Boss that uses the "Trim to selected face(s)"
option and has more than one face selected for trimming.
cnc00104960 General Copying surfaces to a new level using the Status
Bar Level takes longer in X6 than X5.
cnc00105012 Lathe Lathe Geometry is blanked when the clickwheel is
used. Geometry is not repainted until mouse cursor passes over
geometry.
cnc00105149 Xform Offset Contour function will not offset a contour
past 1 inch or reverse offset direction.
cnc00105211 Wire Automatic cut point cutting inside the geometry.
cnc00105277 Solids When creating solids with shading toggled on, the
solid is being displayed as a black solid until a refresh of the
screen or solid is performed and then the solid is displayed in the
appropriate shaded color.
cnc00105308 Mill Mastercam crashes after toggling off Tip Comp on a
drill operation that was created by copying a circle mill operation
and changing the operation type to a drill.
cnc00105362 Lathe If you select the chain option in profile under
chuck jaws, and select your chain, when you click the green check mark
in the chaining manager, you receive the warning message " Toolpath
allocation exceeded". After clicking OK to this warning, you are
returned to the Chuck Jaws properties page but nothing has been
defined.
cnc00105363 Design Automatic spline generation closes down X6.
cnc00105366 NETHook API The 'tool_manager' function (AssocHok.cpp)
does NOT pass pass the approprate 'succf' flag. With the TLMGR_DELETE
flag, it ALWAYS returns FALSE. Attempting to delete a tool from within
a NETHook will cause the NETHook to abort.
cnc00105398 Posts These are assorted problems with the new post query
implementation: Post functions, vlin and vlout, can not access the
'raw' data slots. Not possible to set the previous data with any
functions operating left to right. Boolean terminate point with post
block arguments is not consistent with standard boolean. Crash when no
tool operations exist.
cnc00105407 Mill 2D HST Dynamic Area with Island facing (and multiple
region option) crashes X6.
cnc00105408 Mill 2D HST Dynamic Area with island facing (and multiple
region) leads to gouge. Facing cut machines into the pocket boundary.
cnc00105447 Mill Go into the Toolpath Parameters, Depth cuts and turn
on Island facing. Green check out and regenerate the toolpath.
Mastercam crashes.
cnc00105449 General If a view was rotated around the world origin, the
light blue and light green axis indicators (Press the F9 key) did not
appear.
cnc00105452 Mill Even though the "Output 3D arc moves" is turned on in
the transitions branch, the entry helixes were still linearized.
cnc00105489 File Added the ability to read files from the latest
version of Unigraphics (NX8).
cnc00105491 Mill Using "Renumber tools" to change tool numbers was not
changing the tool numbers in the transform operations, or marking the
Transformed toolpaths dirty. When the transformed toolpath was posted,
the original tool numbers are output, NOT the re-numbered tool
numbers. Because the toolpaths were not marked dirty, the user did not
think he needed to regenerate the toolpaths.
cnc00105500 Art Art Design Library files can now be used.
cnc00105587 API In MCVBScript, the dobitmap() function no longer works
in X6.
cnc00105595 Mill X6 part crashes on exit. The crash might be tied to
the use of a holder.
cnc00105689 File Being prompted for an ACC code when clicking on
"Options" even though one has already been entered. If you try to
enter the same code again, you get a warning "Access code is not valid
for this product."
cnc00105764 File Mastercam X6 crashes when trying to open Version 9
files.
cnc00105796 Mill The force tool change is being set on the null
toolchanges spawned by the depth cuts in the milling operations.
cnc00105866 Posts MPBIN does NOT work if you are using a customer SIM.
MPBIN works fine using a reseller SIM. When using a customer SIM and
trying to BIN a Posts file, the user receives an error - Selected file
type is not valid for posting.
cnc00106119 File X6 crashes when trying to open a particular IGES
file.
cnc00106122 Mill Edit Common Parameters is changing tool offsets when
I change the tool number.
cnc00106448 File File/Merge will cause X5 MU1, X6, and X6 MU1 to crash
when using the attached MCX-5 files.
cnc00106534 File The attached file crashes when opening in 64 bit
systems in X6.
cnc00106844 NETHook API Using the The ChainManager::GetOneChain
function in the NET API will cause Mastercam to crash if the user does
not select a chain when prompted.
cnc00106845 NETHook API MCView::EnsureNameValid() is used to check
that a View with a duplicate name cannot be added. The way that this
method is written, it is possble to put Mastercam into an endless
loop, which would require the user to use the Windows Task Manager to
kill Mastercam and lose any unsaved work.
cnc00106847 NETHook API The "are these 2 points equal" methods for a
2D & 3D point are incorrect. They can return TRUE, even if the 2
points being checked are in fact different.
