Just curious how common these things are.
The one we have has some issues with accuracy when doing certain
things.
What, exactly?
I'm
trying to find out what is our fault and what is the guys who
designed the machines fault or what is a limitation and what is
broken.
I've been programming with it on planes all over the place, works
great. I
am getting ready to go all out 5 axis, but tonight I'm told the
post doesn't
work for 5 axis stuff. The post came off UG's website? Kinda hard
to believe
it's not tweaked?
The centerline to ceenterline distance between the rotary
axes is critical, for one thing.
Yep. For this machine to be worth a frig that needs to be perfect.
No it doesn't.
It just needs to be accurately measured and the results input.
Exactly, and the fix for this isn't in the post, it's in the machine
definition in the control and the software.
The builder/dealer ought to come in and properly configuer the control but
if they either can't or won't, you just do it in the kinematics model in
your software.
He's gonna crash it how much you wanna bet ?
He might, but I doubt it.
The control on a Micron should have barriers configured to prevent it.
They aren't the fancy kids toys that come out of Taiwan.
After which point...it just will <again need to be accurately
measured and the results input...
The bearing sets on a U series, Hermle or Micron, are pretty stout.
Hitting it hard enough to mess up the alignment will mean something else
will break as well. You know, like a spindle or hold down bolt.
LOL
