I would call the past 2 weeks being very relevant to what is happening
today. The Chinese have finally gotten wise and have stopped buying
our dept. They believe they can (and most likely will) get a better
return on their money by gobbling up natural resources. In the second
quarter of 2009, China's imports of iron ore rose 41%, copper by 140%,
coal by 300%, and the big one, aluminum by 400%. They are showing no
sign of slowing down on purchasing these natural resources. Since they
are now putting their money on that horse, why would they continue to
put money on the bond horse?
