Downloaded nx6 this morning. We have it installed at work at every seat, but nobody is using it. I'll play with it for a while and then ask if I can switch over. I couldn't imagine it getting any better? We shall see.
Read the "What's New In NX6" doc. There are a few point releases under it's belt now so it's good to go providing your other users are on board.
Really like 6. Very stable. They've changed Translate to now Move. Translate is now more for scaling. Move does a lot more. The down side is I'm used to the old Ctrl-T so had to relearn Ctrl-alt-M
Assembly Mating is now called Constraints. (was that back in 5 as well?)
Layers changed as well. A bit odd at first but like Move, you learn to like it better than the old Layers.
They finally added Interpolate Tool Axis to Multi-axis Streamline! For organic shapes where you need to really control axis, it's the bomb!

I would like to see an improvement in the verify. It would be awsome if you could rotate the thing around after it verified so you can check out the back etc..
However, I think there's a workaround if your on a fast computer, generate an ipw when you verify and then you have a model of the cut part you can measure, rotate, etc..save it as a component in another file and it wont slow your file down.
I just don't know yet if it's accurate? Maybe its just a representation or something, not sure till I use it and see.

There is still no one close to Vericut (yet) in that arena. You can use Verify 3d instead of 2d. You can spin and zoom all you want. The down side is it does not have the compare tool like Verify 2d plus it's much more faceted. You can do like old school Vericut (before you could rotate during simulation...) create multiple views in your Layout. Set you part at different attitudes. Run Verify. Now you see all sides.
If you choose to use the saved ipw, use the "Create as component" option and it will create each ipw in separate part files that are linked. Much lower overhead on the system then.
Layers still seem weird to me. Sometimes I'll name a layer, but it doesnt show you the layers names in that screen, so sometimes I end up appending my name onto a name that already exists. Plus it needs right click access for making a work layer, and deleting the description or name, etc...
I just need to prolly read the help files on layers.
Just use them more.
One thing that sux and might be something configurable is when you have your system config set like in customer defaults, etc... and it's the way you want everything, you load in a file passed down to you and it forces that users settings on you. Even stuff like graphics settings like chord hights on lines, etc...
There is a setting for this but... I don't recall. I'll take a peek if I get a chance.
