Nope. It's just goes round and round and round because you have such a
hard time grasping simple concepts.

Jon:

Well that's too bad, some people are able to integrate information, feedback, disparate points of view, and grow as a person in the process. And some reject all personal change whatsoever.

Here are some examples of simple concepts you can't grasp even after
many months / years of exposure to them.

If you have 13 billion dollars in cash and you have to give up less
than 1 billion over four years (plus interest) but your business model
remains intact how much have you really lost? Since you don't
understand what the business model is (and neither do the idiots you
associate with... Tom Brewer, Joe788 and John Carroll) you’re going to
have a very hard time answering this question.

Let's take a wider perspective of all this. I don't think you were paying close attention to the video in the link you posted.

http://www.foxbusiness.com/search-results/m/22384433/qualcomm-takes-on-intel.htm

Now in the text background/foreground it displayed, it said that Qualcomm had first quarter net profits (after expenses) of 520 Million.

http://www.reuters.com/article/hotStocksNews/idUSTRE50R7CN20090128

The above Reuters article says net profits for the first fiscal quarter were 341 million down from 767 million for the same period the year before or a lost of 56% compared to the prior year.

Now in the video you linked to, the background text said that for the SECOND quarter Qualcomm had a net LOSS of 46 million. Now it doesn't really matter what a company's gross sales/revenue are, it's the net profits/losses after expenses that are important to the health of the company.
Now if we take the above figures of the first two fiscal quarters (341M - 46M = 295M) OR the Vid numbers (520M - 46M = 474M) we have around 395-474 million in profits for a 6 month period. Now even though that 891M settlement will be paid out over a period of time it will still affect the net profits, since it's essentially coming out of their profits.
If we double the profits for the first two quarters we get like 590M-948M per year. So that puts a different perspective on the significance of that 891M settlement. Almost a year's worth of profits. So like I said before, it's got to "sting" a little - maybe even more than a little.
Didn't someone mention something about "...a hard time grasping simple concepts."

That when Joe788 states:

"You must have picked up your Trinity Made in China box from Costco
this weekend, huh?"

Obviously a question asked jokingly.

And then a few posts later:

"He can't reply. He's too busy feverishly searching the internet to
find out whether or not his new cart is made in China."

A humorous supposition.

This is lying / propaganda...

No, it is not. A lie is a statement made to intentionally deceive someone. Joe wasn't deceiving anyone with any stated facts - he was obviously just razzing you.

The reason I put the link for this
toolbox up was because I'm as disgusted with this kind of toolbox and
its quality. It's an attempt by the Chinese do to destroy yet another
U.S. market... the market held by Kennedy, Matco, Snap-On etc. It's
not hard to read between the lines and see that I'm saying it won't
even hold one of the cheap, Chinese Kurt knock off vises your idiot
boss purchased because the drawers use such a light weight gage ***
metal.

Anyone can make excuses after the fact. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and call this one in your favor - even though it's a more subtle approach than your usual "style".

I don't expect you to figure this out... your not real bright as
evidenced by you constantly asking for specific examples.

I sure wouldn't want to be accused of making ASSumptions. So if I DON'T make assumptions and ask you a direct question - now you complain I'm "constantly asking for specific examples". I guess there is just no pleasing you either way, eh. LOL

The granite master is supposedly accurate to .000050 in 6".

Mine is accurate to .000025 in 6".

That's good. Is it the square black thing? I thought you said you were going to take a better picture of it?

In the ever more extensive globalization of manufacturing, to gain a
competitive edge, you can't really tell how many old line companies are
having parts made elsewhere and then just assembling them in the US so
they can label them "Made in the USA".

You can always call someone like Kennedy and ask or you can do what
you love to do and make the kind of B.S. statement that you have above
and pretend to be helpless.

It wasn't a "B.S. statement" - outsourcing is a fact of life in the modern manufacturing world.

I'm not pretending to be helpless. If I were in the market for a Kennedy toolbox and had a "phobia" about any of it's parts being made in China, then I'd call and find out. Have you called Kennedy to find out?

Since you don't talk directly to Tom or Joe, but you are still
responding to me, after a fashion, here's your chance to straighten
this out. Just list what they have said that you think was
intentionally deceitful in your mind, so they can have the opportunity
to either defend themselves, or admit they were wrong.

I don't care what they think and I don't need their approval on
anything I do because they mean absolutely nothing to me.

This isn't about THEM, It's about the credibility of YOUR accusations and allegations. You MUST realize by now that making accusations that you are unable, or unwilling, to support with evidence & examples - doesn't bode well for your own credibility, don't you?

They have
zero power or control or influence over me. Same goes for someone like
Barney Rubble. I don't even look at his links because I just don't
care. In no way do any of these idiots stop me from doing whatever I
want, wherever I want, when I want.

We have free speech in this country, but we also have laws against defamation of character, libel, and slander.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libel

But regardless of the fine points of the legal system, in a newsgroup situation we are judged on the comments we make, and the fact we present. And a person's credibility level is adversely affected by making unsupported allegations, especially when challenges to those allegations are simply ignored.

I don't know, but having to pay out $891,000,000 on their lost lawsuit
with Broadcom has got to sting a little.

No cutbacks full steam ahead:

AND Qualcomm LOST 46 million in their second fiscal quarter, according to your own listed video link. They may hope to pull out by releasing new chip products but in this economy people are generally cutting back on luxury items and electronic "toys". Circuit City went belly up a couple of months ago, Texas Instruments laid off something like 3400 workers.

I don't think I've ever seen
examples of your machining work, why is that?

Because it would be a violation of my employment terms or my clients
terms.

I'm not talking just about your current job. You've been posting for a decade and in all that time I'm sure you must have made something that doesn't fall under a Non-Disclosure agreement. Haven't you ever made a tool on your own time to help you in your work, or even some trick useless item like a neat workstop, indicator holder, a ring, whatever?

I don't care how you feel about me. I'm not looking for your respect
or for your approval. In fact, I'm not looking for anyone’s.

Jon, now this just doesn't seem to ring true. I don't care what the people in the basket weaving newsgroups think, or what they think about me. So I simply don't bother to post to basket weaving groups.
Why would someone post a picture of their inspection equipment if they didn't care what people thought, eh?
Discounting spammers, if someone goes to the trouble to post to a newsgroup, they obviously are receiving some sort of emotional satisfaction - or they wouldn't bother.
Now there are needy people, called attention whores, who post solely to get a reaction - whether it's positive OR negative (trolls in other words). I don't believe that's your motivation.
From the thousands of posts you've made over the last decade in this group and other forums you seem to be constantly striving for recognition, credibility, and even acclaim, as some sort of CAD/CAM guru. You seem to have this illusion & belief that you're a mover and a shaker in the CAD/CAM world, and continually search for validation of that belief.
It can all be summed up in a simple phrase, if you didn't care what people in amc thought, you wouldn't bother posting.

So if you're not a troll, and not a salesman, and if it's as you claim (that you're not looking for ANYONE'S respect or approval) - then please tell me why such a person would bother to post to amc at all, eh? Do you see the incongruity between your statements and your actions here?
