This is the sort of stuff that just annoys me. The Governor does not
hold the purse strings nor does he have the ability to raise or lower
taxes or pass laws.....that power rests in the legislature.
I disagree.
He is a media mogul. He can get air time whenever he want's. Those
deficits
didn't sneak up ya'll, he could of came out any time and said "wholly ***
everyone, we are heading for a real mess". Nope. He could of called the
legislature girley men?
He did.
He has more power over taxes than anybody in california.
Not true, legislature and voters are the only ones who can pass taxes.
*****
I still stand by my statement, he has more power than anybody in his state.
He is a popular figure in his state, even nationwide.
If he comes on tv, he can sway popular opinion, create outrage etc...
Ok, he doesn't make the laws, I got that in the third grade. But to say he
has no influence on the people of california...well, that actually makes my
point. He could have Great influence. Come on tv, tell the people a long
time ago what they needed to start doing back then. he sure did it when he
pushed his energy agenda.?
OMG, where did these deficits pop up from?
From spending more than you have coming in is a good guess. Not many
saw the crash in late 2008 coming.
That was almost a year ago. Why now all the talk of cutting spending, where
was he in December? Why wasn't he a bit more proactive?
Power of the purse, oversite and creating laws rests firmly in our
state legislature just like it does in the legislative branch of the
federal government (not the president, not the governor). And guys
like you through ignorance keep blaming the wrong guys and keep
reelecting the others.
see my opinion above ....
Your opinion and the way things actually work are two different
things.
I know, only a legislative branch makes laws, but those pukes can get
influenced by popular opinion, something the governator has more power over
prolly than any state leader in the country.
I blame all the latinos in your state who cant read, they are one huge
voting block.
So now you're a racist or is this a comment about democrats again?
Oh I am a racist.
Thank you for clarifying that. Your statement that all Latinos can't
read seemed at face value to be racist, just wanted to give you the
benefit of the doubt and make sure that was your meaning.
I'm a racist for every puke that voted for the president
in hopes they will get free money.
Not if you are referring to socioeconomic groups and/or political
beliefs. Yes, if you are basing it on race.
Calm down, I'm not running for judge on the supreme court? It's not like my
racist views will effect our laws for decades to come? I'm just pissed at
crap like California's problem with latinos.
When I say it's a problem I mean it. Your jails are smacked full of cryps
and bloods, you immagration problem is all we ever hear about. There's a
bump in the stimulus that goes to removing tatoos from gang members? Its
like millions!
I am racist now, because the current admin went after the latino vote and
the black vote by promising free money. I don't care what color you are, but
if acorn shows up in your neiborhood, your neiborhood needs to be dispersed.
Some people voted for him for other reasons, but he wouldn't of won
without
the minority give me free money vote.
He wouldn't have won for a number of reasons, least of which is his
being black or a Democrat.
He promised to redistribute the wealth, then used orgs like acorn to go door
to door and register people to vote in poor neiborhoods. If he didn't do
that he wouldn't of won. It's ok to register people door to door, but to
target latino and black neiborhoods was disgusting. I didn't see them
targeting asian communities?
I don't mind a black president, but I do mind him winning just because
he's black, or because they targeted low income hispanics and blacks.
We are all supposed to be Americans.
Color is supposed to be a non issue these days.
It's back.
The best things that could have happened did. For the Democratic party
it's the economic crash of 2008, Bush's last term, the seemingly
endless fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.
WE ARE STILL IN IRAQ? WE are still in Afganistan.
Nothing has changed whatsoever? We sure let loose on a spending spree as
fast as we could in 3 months, talked about closing gitmo, but IRAQ is still
going on, afganistan is still going on. There's been nothing to stop those
wars or even slow them down.
the only thing that has changed is the libs stopped calling iraq an illegal
war every second of every day.
Best thing that happened to Obama was Jack & Jeri Ryan's divorce,
where those working for Obama managed to make their divorce papers
public.
?
I wasn't racist 6 months ago...now I am. Don't make me bust out the work
boots jokes.
I don't know what you are talking about nor what these two sentences
mean.
Don't take what I say so literal, it's usenet, just trying to spark
conversation, not running for the supreme court or anything?

If it makes you feel better, I'm racist against white trash too.
I'm racist against any group with their hands extended out voting with
their left hand while their right hand is extended.
When acorn comes to my neiborhood and askes me if Im registered to vote,
than I will post in this newsgroup racism is dead. Don't expect that anytime
soon.
