Beware the cost of adding needed options ...

Why?

Do you have the after-market Fanuc options pricelist?

Yup.

So tell us about the cost of adding options, if needed <g>.

OK. You call up Fanuc and order the option and they send out a young
inexperienced service tech to install it. Installing options seems to
be where they start you out. My advice is to back everything up first.
Usually they get it right the first time, but every once in a while
you get the guy that didn't pay attention during training.

As for the cost which option are you interested in? Most everything is
included with the machine if you buy the machine from a decent
builder. If you buy a Korean or Chaiwanese machine tool you will
likely get a stripped out low end control. Something like an OM and
the builder will include next to nothing as their market is price
driven. Have you ever noticed that the people that whine about this
kind of crap are usually the ones buying the cheapest POS machines
that they can find?

The vast majority of options cost in the hundreds of dollars range
plus the service call which is charged at a flat rate. A steal if you
live in Bumfuck Montana, or a rip off if you are in the same
industrial park as the local Fanuc service center.

What control would you recommend Cliff?

This one maybe ?

Bwahahaha. Although that probably came along long after Cliff stopped
working.
