Jesus Christ, Cliff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He doesn't teach CNC or manual machining.

Charlie,
Sort of an OT thread by the subject line (plus, are
there still any fundies about? Used to be fairly full ....) <g>.
I might wonder why you are reading it as well as
what side of the bed ...

It's just getting hard to find something of substance here. I have to
overlook a TON of crap that has nothing to do with machining. If I
want news of the world, I go to web sites dealing in news or read a
newspaper. I don't go to a MACHINING newsgroup for personal politics.
Cliff, you post good stuff when you stay on topic but you post SO
MUCH off-topic crap I've stopped looking for relevant content with
your name attached. I usually ignore posts with your sig because of
it. That saddens me, because you're really smart. Is that your end
goal?

Just ignore threads with clearly OT subject lines & you
are probably home free, except for jb stuff.

Clearly is a relative term. To me, a thread that is clearly OT begins
with "OT- Bush ruins a perfectly good word", or "OT-Machine eats
system". It's a system many use. It helps those of us with only
seconds to spare for such idle pursuits as reading newsgroups. It's
8:30pm, and I've already spent more time than I planned before diving
into another after-hours job.
If everybody would help with the "OT" leaders, fewer people would
bitch. If I have to spend my time deciphering headers because the
poster (could be one of several people) didn't take the time to add
two letters and a hyphen, I sort of get the same feeling I get when
someone wouldn't take thirty seconds to put away the tool I just spent
twenty minutes finding. Like I said previously, if I have to invest a
fair amount of effort into figuring out if something is what I want to
read, I'm more likely to pass over what that poster has written.
Since you seem to have the subconscious need to work a jb bash into
everything, I'll say the same thing to you I said to him. Your method
of delivery if your biggest detractor. Flooding a newsgroup with OT
stuff not marked as such doesn't endear the poster to the masses. I
wasn't going to mention Jon in any of this until you brought him into
it. He doesn't say anything to me, so I don't say anything to him. I
leave him alone. He leaves me alone. I have much more productive
things to do than spend hours and days posting on the internet.
Along those lines, it's time for me to get busy with something that
pays. No rest for the wicked, I hear. ;-)
