I've shipped machinery to Spain and to Mexico. Both speak a form of
Spanish but different flavors. As I remember, the Spanish spoken in
Spain is Castilian vs something other in Mexico. I'm not to sure of
how much is translatable from one to the other vs English. Neither of
them have much in the way of technical or scientific words in them.
FX: when you speak of a vibratory track, they speak of torturing the
conveyance.

The various "spanishes" differ no more than does Bri'ish English from
"American".
But, just as some Merkin dialects can be almost undecipherable even in
Merka, Liverpudlian cockney dialects can be undecipherable as well, cuz,
well, genetic damage causes every third syllable to be dropped, like
listening to a garbled bad connection.

Some dialects *add* syllables: eg, athalete, orientate, explanatate,
conversate, argerate.... ekceterate.
Sheeit, just watch Cops, yo....

However, the accent is quite revealing, and most hispanics can *immediately*
tell the native country of another, as we can tell a southerner from a
Nyawker from a CAsurferdude from a homeydude.
Castillian Spanish has dat built-in lisp, and is rarely heard outside of
Spain.
Portugese *is* different, however, but quite related.

Problem I have with those services are that none I can find are
knowledgeable about our trade. Ask the typical Spanish speaker how to say
"CNC milling machine attachment with CAT40 taper and equipped for a
multiple
spindle head drilling operation using industry standard ER25 inch or
metric
collets" and you pretty much get an english sentance plugged into a
spanish
document... Or a translation that is soo far off that it doesn't work for
someone in rural Mexico who doesn't know a lick of English but works in a
factory as a foreman and knows he needs a product. If you want to
translate
"see jane run" or even "let us meet to discuss the business details" those
services work fine... But not for technical stuff.

Amazing that I can find a competent Chinese translator but not Spanish.
