a healthy increase in the price tag.

That will depend a great deal on their plans for the merged companies.
They might work on the Gibbs product if they want to broaden their base.
They will keep the existing Gibbs development staff on line if this is the
case.

John:

Well I just went to the Gibbs forum:

Here is what Bill Gibbs had to say:

==========================================================================

Gibbs & Cimatron merge

I would like to brief you on the latest news at Gibbs.
I am proud to announce our merger with Cimatron.

Your first question is probably “why”?
To sell more GibbsCAM is the simple answer. To achieve a more competitive size in the CAM marketplace. To diversify our geographical sources of income. To increase future security and stability for our resellers, employees, and customers.

How will this affect GibbsCAM customers?
It will have no direct effect on you.

Allow me to explain:
CimatronE is a high end mold & die CAD/CAM product. GibbsCAM is a production focused CAM product. There is little product overlap. Gibbs distribution is strongest in North America. Cimatron is strongest in Europe. There is little distribution overlap. We plan to sell GibbsCAM thru selected Cimatron direct sales offices in new territories producing a significant GibbsCAM sales growth opportunity. This sales growth will help us fund a higher level of product development as well as product marketing. It will make us less sensitive to a future North American economic downturn, if any.

Our plan does not involve integrating operations or products. In other words, very little changes. “Gibbs and Associates” will continue as “Gibbs and Associates”, still headquartered in Moorpark. I will continue as President. Gibbs employees will do in 2008, what they did in 2007. GibbsCAM 2008 v9 is still due out early this year. As President I can ensure continuity for my employees, my customers, and my resellers. I am also a major Cimatron stockholder and on the Board of Directors.

Cimatron is a company with about twice our level of sales. Combined we jump well into the top 10 CAD/CAM companies in size.

Why else did I pick Cimatron?
- CimatronE is a good product.
- Cimatron is a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ market. (CIMT) This provides financial potential a private company doesn’t have.
- I like the people running Cimatron.

Publicly traded companies must be transparent. You can go to the Cimatron web site (www.cimatron.com) and review our financial statements. You can even buy our stock and come to shareholder meetings.

Keeping GibbsCAM strong and competitive is the best thing I can do for my customers, my resellers, and my employees.

Best regards
Bill Gibbs

So it doesn't appear there will be much actual program change. It seem to have more to do with survival in the shark infested corporate ocean.
