I wonder how many times thats been said in America thruout the years. Of

You know absolutely nothing about Joe's operation but you're sure you
can increase his production by 30%.
hmmm, (trying to be nice), if he got the frig off usenet his damn production
would increase?
LOL
Just joking.
Right but you do bring up a good point, working more hours is not
increasing efficiency.
It implies Im a damn mind reader?
You said you could shave 30% off ANY operation. After Joe told you it
couldn't be done in his operation you said of course HE could. Your
statement implies you know his operation so I guess you are a mind
reader.
Did I friggen say "ME?"
Yes
DID I?
Yes
Nooooo, I wrote "you".
Not in your OP
You being HIM! DAMN!!!
Your OP "I feel I could walk into any shop, and after a while using
time, money, advice, etc... I could increase any cnc machines output
by 30%. EXCEPT a lathe."
"I" could walk into
"I" could increase any
It wasn't until later you said YOU/HE/HIS.
Put the stupid pills down and READ!
You seem to have forgotten some parts.
He can increase his output by 30% with new techniques in machining,
management, lagistics, machine repair/maintanance, etc...
So your mind reading again?
This statement implies you know his operation but you don't.
UNLESS of course he happens to be GOD, in that case nevermind.
If he thinks he has maxed out his world, then he can enjoy his life in the
box.
I don't believe Joe stated he was maxed out, he just disagreed with
your 30% statements.
Your statement above is a direct contradiction to your previous posts.
You said you could walk into ANY shop and increase production by 30%.
previous post...
I feel I could walk into any shop, and after a while using time, money,
advice, etc... I could increase any cnc machines output by 30%. EXCEPT a
lathe.
Your right, and I stand by it. HOWEVER..HE COULD BE THE EXCEPTION.
But, since he's so sure of himself, I doubt it.
He is as sure about his position as you are about yours so maybe in
this instance you are wrong.
Throw out some facts and ill try to explain better what i mean.
Why not just show an example of your work, how have you increased a
companies throughput by 30%?
The whole company? Wholly shiiit?
You said "He can increase his output by 30% with new techniques in
machining, management, lagistics, machine repair/maintanance, etc..."
That sounds like throughput to me. If it works for one machine then it
will work for all machines.
Examples of how I increased my personal output are in the archives of this
newsgroup. Try reading a few.
You are to be commended for increasing your personal output. I stand
corrected, when I read your OP I thought you had experience
implementing company wide changes that resulted in 30% increase in
production.
The hardest thing is to get Management and Employees to buy into the
change process. Lip service is not enough it has to be a true
commitment. If you can't get them onboard and excited about the
changes you want to make you won't get anywhere and you won't save
them a dime.
Wow, thanks for that enlightenment. But the truth is your half WRONG.
It's easy to get the management to buy into sound ideas,
I respectfully disagree, it is indeed a management issue.
Who is in charge?
If a company has opportunities to improve their efficiency by 30% and
management never did anything about it then it surely is a Management
issue.
its the workers at
the machines that fight change.
For me getting workers on the shop floor to buy in is the easiest part
and I have implemented company wide changes.
*** lip service, I find the facts work
better.
Your experience (facts) seem to be different than my experience.
Tom
Look man, all I'm trying to do is get some good discussion going, and it
worked. Just not in your case.
You're playing games to provoke responses so don't complain when
someone responds in kind.
You seen this as an attack against joe88 aka
mr efficiency.
What I saw is you making inconsistent and grandiose statements.
Well maybe he is, maybe he isnt, his operation right down to his cutting
oil is top secret so who knows.
You are confused, it was me with the cutting oil.
That was a company I worked at about 10 years ago. I still do not
divulge their trade secrets. At that company YOU couldn't squeeze a 1%
improvement even if you had an unlimited budget.
It was the best run company I have ever seen or worked for. They have
been bought out twice, top management has changed as has the culture.
It is my understanding it is more of an adversarial and competitive
environment now days. Where they pit departments against each other.
When I was there Management, departments and Employees worked as a
team and the company was a cash cow. I was fortunate to work there, I
learned a lot there.
I'm just trying to get smarter, get more
exposure.
That is fine, even commendable.
Considering all the old timers are DEAD!
One thing I do know, I'm not sure about anything. If anybody here is, good
for you, you are the exception. I just wish I'd get examples instead of
rants.
Why do you need examples? It seems you already have a formula of some
sort so instead of playing games why not just post it.
Tom
