Ever take a big cut on a minimill? They suck for that.
If I wanted to take a big cut I wouldn't have bought a HAAS <G>.
I just play with aluminum beer coasters & some hot rod dress up
parts. Bought it when Bush did that 100% write off on the taxes.
My thought was give money to the IRS or get something to play with &
IRS can help pay for it.
And if you get a minimill, hardcode in your post processor a
toolchange position, way to the back and to the left or eventually
your tools will hit your part. Try to cut a semi tall part and you
better not have a G28 z0 in the begining or you will hit, because it
cuts way higher than that point? Never seen that before. The g28 z0
position is like halfway up?
Yep, the tool change Z is higher up.
and its cheap, yah unless you dare want any options.
THEN, there's no list of turned on options anywhere in the control.
Even the door sucks, when opened it sticks out to the side 2 feet,
adding 2 feet to the footprint they brag about.
Yep, ran into that a few times.
NO FRIGGEN LIGHT, you have to put your own light in? JEEEEEESH mr
haas? Working in the dark sux.
I added a set of halogen lights above.
AND the table doesnt even come close to the front, so you gotta
reach your head in just to see where you are in Y.
Well if it did the vise would crash the door, but for an old fart (me)
bending over to set it up is hard on my back, maybe that's why I don't
run it but every 4-6 months <G>.
All they would of had to do is drop the front *** metal panel 6", so the
door ledge is below the table, you cant even slide stuff off, you have to
lift it over the ledge.
I will admit, it comes with this cool plastic top, We mounted a florescent
light to it, would be great for a sucker mount.
And one more bitch while im at it, the electrical outlet accesory, would be
nice if it was programmable like other machines. Ihave a spinner in there
and i have to shut it off myself?
30 grand might be cheap to some people, takes me 8 months to make that.
Thats a ton of money. A nice car is cheaper than that and they come with a
stereo!
