On one hand, I wonder of Folini hasn't lost his effing mind, and/or is

I found this posted in the Rhino newsgroup with a "yawn" posted as the
only comment.

What is Novedge any way??

Is Novedge where buzzwords and psychobabble go to be born?

Who is this Folini guy anyway?

When "Franco" first started showing up around here, I was curious
about whether or not it was actually just JB in disguise. After all,
Franco's "interviews" with CEOs are just press releases chopped up to
look like an interview, and we all know how fond JB is of press
releases and advertisements.

The fact that he actually published JB's insane rants proves one of
two things:

#1- Franco is JB

or

#2- Franco is even more lost in the world of CAD/CAM than JB.

Number 2 is much mroe likely.

Why anybody would spend the time to interview a lunatic who can't even
properly USE any CAD/CAM software, let alone afford to purchase it, is
beyond me.
===========================

A bird told me that jb does in fact know how to do a little sumpn sumpn w/
cadcam, altho I don't know how well or complex.
If that bird would like to chime in, feel free.

But, at least here, the interview was not a chopped press release, and is
the fodder for some discussion--altho nothing concrete, of course.
I think it was a bit of a creative move on Folini's part, a "perspective of
the consumer" type deal.
Which could be expanded into something semi-useful.

But, if something along the lines I've already bleated about a cupla times
isn't done (true comparative blah blah), all this is just smoke, talk
"about" something" which results in no concrete usefulness.

Unka's most interesting post, in which the industry itself is characterized
as "fragmented and highly competitive", essentially says that new users will
continue to have to shoot in the dark with essentially zero information
(unless they really bite the bullet ito of *multiple* very steep learning
curves), and established users/shops will continue to remain on a hook,
jerked every once in a while to shake out new money.
In the form of updates, new modules, and all the other bullshit that was
proly ready years ago but which is parsed out according to some master plan.

Remember, except for Sy Simms, an educated consumer is the customer from
hell.
