I am seeking employment for the first time in decades and have

any place I apply can get this online so I am wondering if I can
avoid this somehow. I will be moving to another town eventually and
am curious if there is a way to limit having my personal data
exposed. How is this data updated. How do these sites find out
everything you may not want everyone to know? I have always had an

Jonnathan, I understand your concern about private
information, setting that aside, I wouldn't worry about age
when applying for a job. Good machinists are hard to find,
and in my experience an older person in general has a better
work ethic than most younger kids.

Good luck in your job hunting.

Best,
Steve

My last interview was an obvious cased of discrimination. The guy pointed
out that he knew there were questions he was not allowed to ask and said the
average length of employment with the crew he had was 15 years. He said he
was looking for someone that would be there for that length of time. There
was an agreement that I was more then qualified and the pay was right.

If I am 60 now there is a small likelihood I would be considered for any
job requiring longevity is small.

I have limited experience in CNC setup and programming as I have been all
around manual for decades. I am very proficient with Millpower Accurite
etc. Even with a cut in pay of 50% I am still finding it impossible to find
anything.

I still don't like the idea that my age can be shown to all thus making
discrimination completely possible. Starting to suck

Thanks Steve.
