ShopBot and other woodworking CNC machines

Hello all:
I know that woodworkng may seem like an unlikely topic here,
but I just came from IWF and CNC for the woodshop is hot stuff down
there. I saw two companies that they say are geared to the small
(1-man) shop. One is the ShopBot. The other is a small company that
uses a PC 7518 motor as the head and they were so small the name
escapes me.
The fact remains, however that CNC for woodworking is a field that is
growing and uses the same software, to some extant, as other systems.
If there are others out there looking into these systems, I would like
to hear from you. I am at least two years away from such a system, but
would like to hear what others are discovering.
