Can anybody point me to speeds/feeds/tooling data for milling of stones
and rocks?
(Really, I want to mill pockets in rocks.)
Super slow feed, Not as much coolant as you would think and sintered or
embeddeed diamond tooling. The "slurry" of cut stone helps the process so
washing it away might not be a great idea.
If the tooling is getting damaged, you redress it and readjust for a slower
feed.
It's a trial and error thing since most stone has different characteristics
from lot to lot. At least that's the idea with drilling it from what I've
learned. Milling would be slightly different as the slurry isn't trapped in
the hole as much.
