Is it possible that the operator watched it run in graphics before the
crash? The 21 controls can loose it's position if not homed after a run in
graphics. IE: the turret parks in one position and after running the next
tool in graphics the machine thinks it is somewhere else. (tool 4 parks at
Z4.0 and when run in graphics ends with tool 10 at Z2.0) I always reference
the machine after checking a prog in graphics.

@g14g2000cwa.googlegroups.com:
For me most important is to find out if it is an operator's mistake or
maybe electronics problem.
The service department of the company producer of the machine said it
could not be electronics problem...Frankly speaking I think it could be
electronics.
Since the correction was in X only, there should not have been any change
in Z positioning. There are only 2 logical explinations, either TNRC bit
your *ss, or you lost control of Z. Since the control would have alarmed
had it lost control of Z due to following error, the logical expination
is TNRC.
Now, if it was one of the really old control systems, that uses a
separate tach feedback from the motor, you could have lost a tach or tach
cable and caused a run-away situation, but, IIRC a 21i does not use a
separate tachometer in the motor, as the tach feedback is derrived from
the encoder feedback loop.
