Re: A new record for Jon

Bob,

I often feel it necessary to get to the truth because people like John
Carroll thrive on posting partial stories and incomplete info.

Jon:

That's sometimes the nature of newsgroups. Some people just don't have
the time or interest to go into great detail, especially when they may
think that others don't really care.

How do you explain the dialog between Gibbs head tech writer and me
after I have been very critical of him and Gibbs in the past ? See
www.cnczone.com. Who have I been more critical of than what I use to
call GibbSCAM ?

How do you explain my dialog with DanB in the BobCAD Forum (very little
of the dialog is about BobCADCAM) after we went at it tooth and nail on
www.cadchat.com.

How do *I* explain those two instances? Do they need explanation?
Succinctly, you can be non-confrontational when you choose to be.
Cooperation, rather than confrontation, just doesn't seem to be a high
priority for you when posting to this group.

There is far more satisfaction for me and far more content in those
dialogs than much of what I post here.... because Cliffy and his ilk
make that dialog impossible here.

Just killfile Cliff then.

When you fight with quality people I think it's sometimes the best
thing that can happen in the long term. Both DanB and Gibbs head tech
writer now have my respect.

Change the word "fight" to "debate" and I'd agree 100%.

Dan Murhpy doesn't. Mr. P.V. doesn't. I doubt they ever will.
Especially Mr. P.V.

Well... "ever" is a long time. The points of contention between you
and Dan, or you and PV, seem to be pretty minor issues to me.

In any case, despite all this my feeling is that a forum that refuses
to allow personal attacks will and is winning out for getting machining
/ CADCAM content.

I've always thought that personal attacks are detrimental to the smooth
flow of ideas and knowledge in this group. But in adhering to the
principle of free speech you have to allow people to express themselves
the way they wish. Mature responsible people tend to curb their more
demeaning and extreme outbursts. Immature and/or irresponsible people
don't.

I'll wait to debate with you whether trying to bring out the best in
someone is always a good policy. I think it has it has some serious
drawbacks.

The policy may have it's flaws, but I think the results can be more
productive than trying to bring out the worst in people.

Hmmm... Andy's famous now. What do you think my cut should be ? ;>)
God I love being a Jew. :>) See.... it's not hard to see why so many
Jews are hated. ;>)

I see your smilie. But I seriously doubt being Jewish has much to do
with it. In fact I forgot you WERE Jewish until you just mentioned it.
