Build a fairly rigid fiberboard eggcrate for cheap support. Add wax. Machine.
Need to redo something? Machine a flat, add another block of wax, remachine.

Try a small prototype of the processs first.
1/4 or 1/2 scale program proofing works well too (use 1/4 or 1/2 size
tools).
