What would the number of "teeth" have to do with it?
The smaller the diameter the cutting tool the "faster" it
enters & exits the cut and thus the less the effect of the
"back cutting".
But consider: the effective diameter of both the cutter
& the work are variable, depending on where on the thread form
it's being cut by the cutter and what bit of the cutter is doing the
cutting of that thread form there.
