Disconnect wireless/direct connect to cable modem

If I have the wrong group, please point me to the correct group.

I have a Toshiba Satellite running Windows Vista. It is using a
Linksys WRT54G.

I want to disconnect from the Linksys router and directly connect to
my cable modem.

In other words, I do not want to go wireless.
