Sharing files between my pc and my laptop wirelessly

Hi,

I have my desktop connected to the internet by adsl cable which is
connected to a linksys wireless router, i connect my laptop to the
internet through this wireless router with no problems but i want to
share files between both my laptop and my desktop. let me add that both
my laptop and desktop r having different names and using the same
workgroup name but the porblem i can't see any of them in my network,
at the same time if i connected a cable to the wireless router and
connected the other end of the cable to the laptop i can c both pcs and
can access all shared files.
Is it realy possible to access my shared files through the linksys
wireless router or not
