hmm... I disagree... granted there is no quick-fix solution like a
service, and quality content will motivate people to link to you as you
become the expert in your field, but for those of us who have a
professional interest in increasing our organic rank in google, a
systematic approach to this issue is necessary part of our online
marketing plan.

So, considering this information, to the original poster, services
suck. They're money eaters. Smarmy guy is right. Building quality
content and improving your site with new informaton on a consistent
basis, along with original and unique content is the best way to
generate inbound links. HOWEVER, my company goes about producing
additional inbound links by keeping a detailed spread*** of high
page-ranked web pages that are applicable to our site. We write
personalized letters to the webmasters requesting a link exchange and
follow up with them on a monthly basis.

No matter which way you go, it's hard work, takes time, and
organization. So, stop trying to cheat and start improving your site.
Generally what's best for your business is best for your ranking &
inbound link ratio.
